Volleyball Recap: Saturday's Defeat Ends DME Academy's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but DME Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the True North Classical Academy Titans by a score of 3-2. While the - didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Titans 25-21 in the first set.

DME Academy came incredibly close to winning: the sets they lost were decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 27-25, 25-22, 18-25, 15-12.

Leading True North Classical Academy to victory were Olivia Pardo and Andrea Aguirre. Pardo had 15 digs and three aces, while Aguirre had five digs and two aces. That's the most digs Pardo has posted since back in October of 2024. Jada Christian also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

DME Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for True North Classical Academy, their record now sits at 7-5.

DME Academy and True North Classical Academy should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. The - will square off against New Smyrna Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (63 vs. 251). Meanwhile, True North Classical Academy (ranked 67th) will meet Monsignor Pace (ranked 217th) at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
