16 must be Nottoway's lucky number: they beat Colonial Heights with that score not once but twice on Monday. The Cougars beat the Colonials by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 16-5. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Nottoway pushed their record up to 10-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Colonial Heights, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season.

Nottoway will host Randolph-Henry at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Colonial Heights, they are taking a road trip to challenge Meadowbrook at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Colonials are facing the Monarchs at the right time seeing as the Monarchs are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
