Baseball Recap: Wilson Tigers vs. South Florence Bruins
Wilson extended their losing streak to six on Monday, dropping their season record down to 9-13 in the process. They lost 14-2 to the South Florence Bruins. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Bruins this season, with their most recent defeat being a 10-0 loss two weeks ago.
Wilson saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mark Law, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
As for South Florence, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by seven runs or more this season.
On South Florence's side, Landon Hill looked comfortable as he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, South Florence got a massive performance out of Jhordyn Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Johnson has posted since back in March. Ben Tyner was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and four RBI.
As of now, neither Wilson nor South Florence have any future games scheduled.
