Recap: Del Norte Knights vs. Miyamura Patriots

The Del Norte Knights's and the Miyamura Patriots's matchup on Saturday was close at halftime, but the Del Norte Knights turned on the heat in the second half with 42 points. Del Norte put the hurt on Miyamura with a sharp 69-44 win. The win was just what Del Norte needed coming off of a 53-30 loss in their prior game.

Del Norte found their leader in underclassman Francois Satchivi, who scored 22 points along with four steals. The match was Satchivi's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Julian Castillo, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Del Norte's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Miyamura, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Del Norte and West Mesa will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 21st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. West Mesa presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Del Norte in New Mexico (West Mesa is ranked 27th, while Del Norte is ranked 102nd). Miyamura and Pojoaque Valley will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Pojoaque Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Miyamura likes a good challenge.
