Football Recap: Thunderbird Comes Up Short

Thunderbird fell victim to ALA - West Foothills and their airtight defense on Friday. They were outmatched by the Guardians and fell 35-0. The Titans' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

JP Stewart threw for 111 yards on 14 of 28 attempts. Daryl Little was his top target, picking up 71 receiving yards.

Leading ALA - West Foothills to victory were Kenyon Rosenthal and Carlos Serrano. Rosenthal rushed for 124 yards and two TDs on only 13 carries, while Serrano threw for 119 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Rosenthal is becoming a predictor of the Guardians' success: when he posts at least 100 rushing yards the team is 4-2 (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Cole Nuanez also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.

Thunderbird's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for ALA - West Foothills, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-4.

Thunderbird wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 58-26 loss against Peoria on the 31st. As for ALA - West Foothills, they have also already played their next matchup, a 24-14 victory against St. Mary's on the 31st.
