Basketball Game Preview: Ballou Knights vs. Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering Panthers

The Ballou Knights will venture away from home to face off against the Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Monday, Ballou was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 53-48 to Gar-Field. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Knights came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 19th in District of Columbia, while the Red Wolves are ranked 101st in Virginia).

Meanwhile, Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by Maret 77-23.

Ballou has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season. As for Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Everything came up roses for Ballou against Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 65-35 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ballou since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
