Football Recap: Robinson Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Robinson had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They took their match on Friday with ease, bagging a 35-7 victory over the West Trojans. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Rockets also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.

Evan Moreno was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 224 yards and one touchdown while picking up 9.7 yards per carry. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 64 yards. Another player making a difference was Brice McCurdy, who threw for 180 yards and a pair of TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Robinson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 287 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 171 rushing yards in four consecutive games dating back to last season.

Coming up, Robinson will face off against Caldwell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West, they will take on Trinity Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
