Softball Recap: Apple Valley Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Apple Valley dropped their record down to 11-7-1 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins on the road. They lost 9-1 to the Rancho Cucamonga Cougars. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Sun Devils couldn't push the score so high this time.

Brooke Johnson was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run.

As for Rancho Cucamonga, the win got them back to even at 10-10. They not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 20th (when they won 14-4).

On Rancho Cucamonga's side, Anaya Burley was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Burley has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Amanda Wise, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Coming up, Apple Valley will be playing at home against Hesperia at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The Sun Devils are facing the Scorpions at the right time seeing as the Scorpions are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Rancho Cucamonga, they will head out to challenge Upland at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The Highlanders/Scots' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Cougars' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
