Volleyball Recap: Calera Takes a Loss

Calera lost against Chilton County back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Eagles came up short against the Tigers, falling 3-0. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since October 18, 2023, but that streak is no more.

While Calera was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Chilton County's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-21, 26-24.

Leading Chilton County to victory were Addison Tignor and Kendall Moore. Tignor had 21 assists and 11 digs, while Moore had 15 digs and two assists. Those 11 digs gave Tignor a new career-high.

Calera's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Chilton County, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-9 record this season.

Calera has already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against Benjamin Russell on the 23rd. As for Chilton County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Alabama Christian Academy on the 20th.
