Soccer Recap: Lake Norman Charter Falls Short of Newton-Conover in the Playoffs

Lake Norman Charter and Newton-Conover squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Lake Norman Charter had to settle for second. They fell 4-2 to the Red Devils. Lake Norman Charter were not able to make up for their defeat to Newton-Conover from their previous meeting back in March of 2021.

Jayce Ferris and Colton Waid scored both of Lake Norman Charter's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 18 goals.

Lake Norman Charter has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13-1 record this season. As for Newton-Conover, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-1-3.

Lake Norman Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Newton-Conover, they will be playing at home against Burns at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Burns' last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
