Baseball Game Preview: Arnold Marlins vs. Lake Park Lancers

The Arnold Marlins will square off against the Lake Park Lancers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Arnold comes in on three and Lake Park on four.

Last Tuesday, Arnold was able to grind out a solid win over Reavis, taking the game 6-1.

Eli Blair spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Josh Lindsey was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Meanwhile, Lake Park won against Owensboro Catholic on Tuesday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Lancers came out on top against Wayne County by a score of 7-4.

Tommy Pruyn made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Pruyn was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. That hit was his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chris Ray, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Gavin O'Neil, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Arnold's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-6. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lake Park, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.
