Basketball Game Preview: Spotswood Trailblazers vs. Northside Vikings

The Spotswood Trailblazers will challenge the Northside Vikings on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Spotswood sitting on 19 straight wins and Northside on 18.

Spotswood is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They strolled past Carroll County with points to spare, taking the game 71-52.

Meanwhile, Northside got the win against Western Albemarle on Tuesday by a conclusive 55-33. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Northside pushed their record up to 27-1 with the victory, which was their 30th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.7 points over those games. As for Spotswood, their win bumped their record up to 24-3.

Spotswood lost to Northside on the road by a decisive 71-54 margin in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Spotswood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
