Basketball Game Preview: Pomona Panthers vs. D'Evelyn Jaguars

A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Panthers take on the Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Thursday, Pomona ended up a good deal behind Conifer and lost 60-41. The game marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, D'Evelyn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 23rd straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by Standley Lake and fell 63-19. The Jaguars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-9.

D'Evelyn's defeat dropped their record down to 0-21. As for Pomona, their loss was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-14.

Pomona couldn't quite finish off D'Evelyn when the teams last played back in January of 2024 and fell 54-51. Can Pomona avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
