Football Game Preview: Shiloh Generals vs. Lakeside Vikings

The Shiloh Generals will square off against the Lakeside Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Shiloh will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

On Friday, Shiloh took their game with ease, bagging a 42-7 victory over Arabia Mountain. The Generals pushed the score to 28-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Rams had little chance of recovering from.

It was another big night for John Wilson, who rushed for 103 yards and a pair of TDs on only nine carries, and also threw for 145 yards and two touchdowns. Shiloh is 3-1 when Wilson posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 1-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Ryan Webster, who rushed for 110 yards and one score.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Lakeside's offense. They took a blow against Decatur on Friday, falling 28-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Vikings were not able to get on the board.

The win got Shiloh back to even at 4-4. As for Lakeside, they dropped their record down to 3-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Shiloh was able to grind out a solid victory over Lakeside when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 29-21. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Vikings' Kyle Davis, who rushed for 90 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also threw for 115 yards on ten of 17 attempts. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Generals to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
