Football Recap: East Nicolaus Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for East Nicolaus's offense. They took a hard 17-0 fall against the West Valley Eagles on Friday. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Mason Taylor threw for 72 yards on seven of 18 attempts. Austen Felkins was his top target, picking up 48 receiving yards. On the ground, Evan Cantrell rushed for 39 yards.

Chayce Reed continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for West Valley, rushing for 207 yards and two TDs while picking up 8.0 yards per carry. Reed is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 104 every time he's taken the field this season.

East Nicolaus' defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for West Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, East Nicolaus will venture away from home to face off against Willows at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The game will give the Spartans their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for West Valley, they will host Enterprise at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
