Softball Recap: Southwest Takes a Loss

Southwest was the 17-2 winner over Hialeah-Miami Lakes when they last played one another back in April of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Southwest Eagles took a 15-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hialeah-Miami Lakes Trojans on Wednesday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sannaya Pardey was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing Five bases. while going 3-for-4. Mia Acosta was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Southwest now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Hialeah-Miami Lakes, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

Coming up, Southwest will head out on the road to challenge Coral Park at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Southwest knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Coral Park likes a good challenge. As for Hialeah-Miami Lakes, they will face off against Westland Hialeah at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Hialeah-Miami Lakes is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11 runs per game this season.
