Volleyball Recap: Pekin Dragons vs. Dunlap Eagles

Pekin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Dunlap Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in September.

The final score came out to 25-7, 25-19.

Dunlap was led to victory by Tessa Arnott and Rebecca Lopez. Arnott had nine digs, six kills, and four aces, while Lopez had nine digs, eight kills, and one block. Arnott has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 19 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Caroline Holmes, who had 11 assists and five digs.

Pekin's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Dunlap, their record is now 17-6.

Looking ahead, Pekin will take on Olympia in a tournament on Saturday. As for Dunlap, they will head out on the road to square off against Limestone at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
