After flying high against Nuiqsut Trapper last Thursday, Nunamiut came back down to earth. The Nunamiut Amaguq fell to the Alak Huskies 55-50. The Amaguq were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Huskies earlier this season, when they won 51-50.

Several Amaguq players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Krista Hugo, who posted 16 points. Another player making a difference was Eileen Panigeo, who scored 16 points.

Nicole Nayakik was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 28 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Alak's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mabel Aguvluk, who put up 12 points.
