Football Recap: Parrish Community Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Parrish Community extended their winning streak to six on Friday, bumping them up to 9-1. They walked away with a 35-28 victory over the Sarasota Sailors. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bulls also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2024.

Leading Parrish Community to victory were Jacoby Thomas and Brycen Volz. Thomas gained 239 total yards and a touchdown, while Volz threw for 214 yards and three touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Thomas a new career-high in rushing yards (201). A healthy portion of Volz's aerial production (92 yards to be exact) went to Nathan Schueller, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Parrish Community was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 317 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

As for Sarasota, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 267th, while Parrish Community is ranked 111th).

Sarasota's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayden Rivers, who picked up 170 receiving yards and one score. Rivers was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 55 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Hudson West, who threw for 356 yards and one TD.

As of now, neither Parrish Community nor Sarasota have any future games scheduled.
