Recap: Troup Tigers vs. Groveton Indians
The Troup Tigers waltzed into Thursday's contest with two straight wins but they left with three. They strolled past Groveton with points to spare, taking the game 41-23. Given Troup's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 496th, while Groveton is ranked 994th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Troup to victory were Bailey Blanton and Qhenja Jordan. Blanton scored 11 points along with 5 rebounds, while Jordan scored 15 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Jordan has scored at least 25% of Troup's points.
Troup's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Groveton, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Gary the next time they take the court. Groveton will head out to face Gary at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, while Troup will head out to face them at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday.
