Basketball Game Preview: Joshua Owls vs. Mansfield Summit Jaguars

Joshua hasn't had much luck against Mansfield Summit recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Joshua Owls will be playing at home against the Mansfield Summit Jaguars at 1:30 p.m.

Joshua is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Saturday. They took a hard 66-49 fall against Shoemaker.

Meanwhile, Mansfield Summit came tearing into Friday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Scots by a score of 50-40. Given the Jaguars' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 44th, while the Scots are ranked 139th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mansfield Summit has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points per game. As for Joshua, their loss dropped their record down to 11-13.

Joshua came up short against Mansfield Summit in their previous meeting back in January, falling 52-46. Can Joshua avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
