After a string of 11 wins, Hickory's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the Cherokee Braves by a score of 2-1.

Cherokee's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mo Hernandez, who had 12 digs. Those 12 digs gave Hernandez a new career-high. Lilly Lossiah was another key player, getting 14 assists and four digs.

Hickory's loss dropped their record down to 16-2. As for Cherokee, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.

Hickory didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against North Iredell on the 20th. As for Cherokee, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Enka on the 20th.
