Basketball Recap: Florala Comes Up Short

Florala was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by the New Brockton Gamecocks 51-12. The game marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Florala's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for New Brockton, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-8.

Florala and New Brockton could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. Florala (ranked 359th) will meet Andalusia (ranked 95th) at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Similarly, New Brockton will take on Cullman at 1:30 p.m. on Friday down 126 places (211 vs. 85).
