Salmon River and Council are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The Savages will venture away from home to face off against the Lumberjacks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Salmon River's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last six games.

Salmon River took a 30-point defeat the last time they faced off against Garden Valley, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Savages narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Wolverines 52-50.

Meanwhile, Council had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 50.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They claimed a resounding 46-7 win over the Pirates. Considering the Lumberjacks have won five contests by more than 31 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Salmon River's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Council, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Salmon River took a serious blow against Council in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 64-26. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Savages were down 44-20.
