Recap: North River Christian Chargers vs. Coosa Valley Academy Rebels
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Springwood, the North River Christian Chargers were happy to have found some success on Monday. They walked away with a 57-45 win over Coosa Valley Academy. This was payback for North River Christian, who suffered a 24-16 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Leading North River Christian to victory were Alayna Fuller and Halle Burch. Fuller scored 10 points along with 7 steals, while Burch scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds. Burch is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Alaisha Cousette was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 5 assists and 4 steals.
North River Christian now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Coosa Valley Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
North River Christian will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Heritage Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. As for Coosa Valley Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Bessemer Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Bessemer Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 last Tuesday.
