Football Recap: Lafayette Christian Cougars vs. Unity Christian Lions
Lafayette Christian and Unity Christian squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Lafayette Christian had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Unity Christian Lions, falling 57-30. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September.
Although Lafayette Christian took the loss, they still got scores from Eli Carroll, David Karvelas, Landon Childree, and Caleb Hinton.
Lafayette Christian wouldn't let Unity Christian keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Lafayette Christian can thank Carroll and Karvelas for forcing both of them. Carroll has been hot , having also posted six or more total tackles the last eight times he's played. Cody Batistini was another major factor on D, making 15 total tackles.
With the loss, Lafayette Christian broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-2. As for Unity Christian, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.
