Baseball Recap: Zimmerman Thunder vs. Chisago Lakes Area Wildcats
Zimmerman couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They wound up on the wrong side of a rough 14-5 walloping at the hands of the Chisago Lakes Area Wildcats on Tuesday. Zimmerman was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Chisago Lakes Area apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2016.
Hunter Howe and Eli Martin did some serious damage despite the final result: Howe scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Martin scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
Chisago Lakes Area's win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-1.
Zimmerman will take on St. Francis at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Chisago Lakes Area, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Big Lake at 4:30 p.m.
