Basketball Recap: Cumby Takes a Loss

Cumby came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were outmatched by the Bells Panthers and fell 59-32. The Trojans have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Several Trojans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chett Vaughan, who posted 16 points. Vaughan's evening made it 34 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Chayton Vaughan was another key player, putting up eight points.

Cumby's defeat dropped their record down to 20-15. As for Bells, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-9 record this season.

Cumby didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 57-54 loss against Clarksville on the 18th. As for Bells, they have also already played their next game, a 72-64 defeat against Chisum on the 18th.
