Football Game Preview: Riverview Sharks vs. Bloomingdale Bulls

The Riverview Sharks will venture away from home to take on the Bloomingdale Bulls at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Riverview will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating East Bay, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Sharks were the clear victors by a 35-14 margin over the Indians on Friday. The Sharks not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since September 6, 2024 (when they won 41-12).

Riverview didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jeremery Bass and Shakil Young. Bass is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least five every time he's taken the field this season. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Bloomingdale can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 42-7 win over Robinson. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Bulls considering their six-point performance the contest before.

Riverview better keep an eye on Preston Beckham. He was instrumental in Bloomingdale's win, rushing for 156 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 9.8 yards per carry. Beckham also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Bulls are 2-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-4 otherwise. Jeremiah Lowe did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 102 receiving yards.

Bloomingdale was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 307 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 164 rushing yards in five consecutive matchups.

Riverview's record now sits at 5-3. As for Bloomingdale, their record is now 3-5.

Riverview barely slipped by Bloomingdale when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 22-21. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Sharks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
