Basketball Game Preview: Firestone Falcons vs. St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish

The Firestone Falcons will venture away from home to face off against the St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Firestone is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Firestone is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 64 points last Wednesday, they were much more limited against Green on Wednesday. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 51-29.

Meanwhile, St. Vincent-St. Mary lost 70-47 to Prolific Prep on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Fighting Irish can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 81st in Ohio, while the Crew are ranked second in California).

St. Vincent-St. Mary has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season. Firestone's defeat dropped their record down to 3-18.

Firestone came up short against St. Vincent-St. Mary in their previous matchup back in December of 2015, falling 68-64. Can Firestone avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
