Basketball Preview: Orem Tigers vs. Springville Red Devils
The Orem Tigers will head out to square off against the Springville Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Orem's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.
Orem not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since December 6, 2025 (when they won 81-46). They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Spanish Fork 71-41. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Tigers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Dons are ranked 102nd).
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Springville and Wasatch, and Springville kept the tradition alive. The Red Devils walked away with a 67-56 win over the Wasps on Tuesday. The Red Devils haven't had any issues with the Wasps recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Orem better keep an eye on Mason Hansen. He was instrumental in Springville's win, shooting 55% from beyond the arc on his way to 29 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That's the most steals Hansen has posted since back in February of 2025. Sam Nadauld was another key player, putting up nine points and eight assists.
Orem's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Springville, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5.
