             Marais des Cygnes Valley won the last time they faced Chetopa, and things went their way  on Friday too. The Marais des Cygnes Valley Trojans secured  a  26-20 W over the Chetopa Hornets. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Trojans.
 Marais des Cygnes Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Landon Traver, who rushed for 102 yards on only ten carries, and also picked up 45 receiving yards. Traver also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making 14 total tackles (2.0 for loss) and defending four passes in addition to snagging   an  interception.
 Marais des Cygnes Valley wouldn't let Chetopa keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles.  Sam Goddard was the leader in that area as all came courtesy of his dominant performance.
 Despite the loss, Chetopa still got an impressive performance from   Lawrence Holt, who rushed for 181 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. Holt also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D,  forcing a fumble, making 27 total tackles (3.0 for loss), and defending three passes in addition to snagging  three  interceptions which he returned one-yard for a touchdown.  Marshall Minor was another key player, rushing for 121 yards.
 Marais des Cygnes Valley's victory  ended  a  six-game drought at home  dating back to last season and  bumped them up to 2-0. As for Chetopa, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
 Marais des Cygnes Valley will venture away from home to  square off against Southern Coffey County  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Chetopa, they will host Cunningham  on Thursday. Chetopa will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak  dating back to last season alive.
