Baseball Recap: Alton Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matchups, Alton finally came back down to earth on Saturday. They lost 17-0 to the Scott City Rams. The game marked the first time this year in which the Comets were not able to get on the board.

Alton moved to 14-6 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Scott City, the victory (which was their 23rd in a row) raised their record to 28-1.

Looking ahead, Alton will head out to take on Greenville at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Comets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bears have averaged an impressive 10.5 runs per game this season. As for Scott City, they will square off against Oran at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
