Basketball Recap: Splendora Comes Up Short

Splendora suffered their closest defeat since November 25, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of the Crosby Cougars by a score of 36-34. The contest marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite the loss, Splendora still got an impressive performance from Brock Kirby, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 18 points. Kirby is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.

Even though they lost, Splendora was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Crosby's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but EVAN EGANS led the charge by putting up 16 points. Another player making a difference was PHILLIP JACKSON, who went 5 of 10 en route to 10 points and six boards.

Splendora's loss dropped their record down to 12-14. As for Crosby, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-11 record this season.
