Basketball Recap: Central Heights Comes Up Short

Central Heights lost against Tatum back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Central Heights Blue Devils fell 55-45 to the Tatum Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 883rd, while the Eagles are ranked 74th).

Central Heights has been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 14 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. As for Tatum, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-2.

Central Heights will host Woodville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Central Heights is facing Woodville at the right time seeing as Woodville is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Tatum, they will face off against Gladewater at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Tatum knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Gladewater likes a good challenge.
