Volleyball Recap: Desert Scorpions vs. California City Ravens

Desert had lost four straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 4-15 to make it five. They fell just short of the California City Ravens by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Ravens this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Zaylee Whitesell paced Desert's offense, picking up 13 kills. Whitesell got some help from Kloyee Baldwin and her 24 assists. Finally, Alyssa Ballentine kept Desert's defense grounded, leading the team with six blocks.

As for California City, they now have a winning record of 16-15-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since September 5th.

California City found their leader in sophomore Sophia Dominguez, who had 20 digs. Dominguez is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

Desert has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Kern Valley on the 16th. As for California City, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Frazier Mountain on the 16th.
