Campolindo is 8-2 against Acalanes since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Cougars will square off against the Dons at 1:00 p.m. Campolindo's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Acalanes' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Campolindo is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over Encinal.
Colin Rutzen tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 5.1 innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jack Luster, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Miles Clayton was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Campolindo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Acalanes never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They came out on top against Ukiah by a score of 3-0. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Dons as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Acalanes also got a great performance from Branson Smith as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Smith also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Dons are 7-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 7-8-1 otherwise.
At the plate, Ando Butner was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Ben Pecci, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Campolindo's record is now 15-10. As for Acalanes, their record now sits at 14-10-1.
Campolindo skirted past Acalanes 6-5 when the teams last played on May 1st. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
