Basketball Recap: Summit Academy Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Draper APA, Summit Academy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 47-36 win over the Juan Diego Catholic Soaring Eagle. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bears as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Summit Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sydney Orme out in front who posted 11 points. Sierra Johnson was another key player, putting up eight points and eight rebounds.

Summit Academy's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-9. As for Juan Diego Catholic, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-11.

Summit Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 65-31 loss against Judge Memorial Catholic on the 9th. As for Juan Diego Catholic, they will challenge Layton Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 14th. Layton Christian Academy will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Juan Diego Catholic surely won't give up without a fight.
