Baseball Recap: Hanover-Horton Victorious

Hanover-Horton never let their opponents score on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Leslie Blackhawks 2-0. This was payback for the Comets, who suffered a 6-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

Not much got past Luke Soper, who gave up just a hit and racked up 13 Ks to keep Leslie off the board. Soper is becoming a predictor of Hanover-Horton's success: when he allows at most two hits the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Brady Pond was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Hanover-Horton's record is now 5-3. As for Leslie, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Hanover-Horton is set to square off against their familiar foe Addison at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Leslie will take on rival East Jackson at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
