Football Recap: Dracut's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Dracut ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They snuck past the Lowell Catholic Crusaders with a 28-22 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Middies as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Dracut got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Chad Vigeant out in front who picked up 33 receiving yards and two TDs. Those 33 receiving yards gave Vigeant a new career-high. Dracut also got a significant boost from Owen French, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 120 yards.

Dracut's victory bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Lowell Catholic, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Dracut and Lowell Catholic will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Middies see the field they'll take on Methuen at 10:00 a.m. on the 27th. As for Lowell Catholic, their break will end when they face Greater Lowell Tech at 6:00 p.m. on the 26th.
