Preview: Delta Eagles vs. Yorktown Tigers

The Delta Eagles will be playing at home against the Yorktown Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.

Delta can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Norwell 47-7 on the road. The victory was just what Delta needed coming off of a 38-7 loss in their prior matchup.

Kaiden Bond was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 137 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Bronson Edwards, who threw for 60 yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Yorktown's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 31-14 win over Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran. Given Yorktown's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana football rankings (they are ranked 99th, while Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran is ranked 242nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Ayden Ewing, who rushed for 324 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.0 yards per carry. Ewing's longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards.

Their wins bumped Delta to 6-4 and Yorktown to 5-5.

Delta was able to grind out a solid win over Yorktown in their previous matchup back in September, winning 22-13. Does Delta have another victory up their sleeve, or will Yorktown turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
