Recap: Deer Trail Eagles vs. Bethune Bobcats
The Deer Trail Eagles's nine-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They walked away with a 30-23 victory over Bethune. The victory was just what Deer Trail needed coming off of a 81-12 defeat in their prior contest.
Deer Trail's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mursal Hussein, who scored eight points. Dylan Bertram was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Bethune's loss came despite strong showings from Angel Herrera and Ty Morris. Herrera scored nine points along with 14 rebounds and two steals, while Morris scored six points along with three steals.
Deer Trail's win ended a 12-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-10. As for Bethune, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-9.
Deer Trail will take on Weldon Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Weldon Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Thursday. As for Bethune, they will head out on the road to take on Genoa-Hugo/Karval at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
