Recap: North Star Academy vs. Millburn Millers
North Star Academy had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 54-47 victory over Millburn on Saturday. The win was all the more spectacular given North Star Academy's disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 159th, while Millburn is ranked 21st).
Millburn's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Chase Plotkin, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds, and Zach Benmorits who scored 16 points. Benmorits has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chace Redler, who scored six points.
Even though they lost, Millburn smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
North Star Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Millburn, their loss dropped their record down to 9-2.
North Star Academy will head out on the road to take on Irvington at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Millburn, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Orange at 4:00 p.m.
