Basketball Recap: Hayfork Picks Up Tenth Straight Win at Home

Hayfork came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 82-43 win over the Ferndale Wildcats. The Timberjacks' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hayfork to victory, but perhaps none more so than Levi Cavalli, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. Cavalli has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 21 times he's played. Devin Nanez was another key player, putting up 22 points along with seven rebounds and six steals.

Hayfork's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 26.6 points. As for Ferndale, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Hayfork will challenge Hoopa Valley at 12:45 p.m. on Thursday. Hoopa Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.2 points per game this season. As for Ferndale, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on St. Bernard's at 7:30 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
