Basketball Recap: Purcell Comes Up Short

Purcell lost against Marlow back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Purcell Dragons fell just short of the Marlow Outlaws by a score of 54-52. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 236th, while the Outlaws are ranked 106th).

It was another big night for Blayd Harris, who went 6 of 12 en route to 30 points and eight boards for Marlow. With that strong performance, Harris is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Zack Long, who posted six points.

Purcell's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Marlow, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Purcell will challenge Comanche at 8:00 p.m. on February 4th. As for Marlow, they will welcome Lindsay at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
