Recap: Wardlaw Academy Patriots vs. Faith Christian Knights
On Friday, The Wardlaw Academy Patriots faced the Faith Christian Knights in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Wardlaw Academy blew past Faith Christian, posting a 42-8 victory at home. The result was nothing new for Wardlaw Academy, who have now won four matchups by 24 points or more so far this season.
Jesse Cleveland got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 176 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.0 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Colt Bailey, who rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown.
The victory makes it two in a row for Wardlaw Academy and bumps their season record up to 7-3. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 36 points. As for Faith Christian, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4.
Wardlaw Academy will head out on the road to face off against Holly Hill Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Holly Hill Academy will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak. Faith Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
