Baseball Recap: Academy for Academic Excellence Starts Season with Win at Home

Academy for Academic Excellence gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They blew past the Academy of Careers & Exploration Eagle 11-1. For the Knights, this counts as revenge for the 7-1 win the Eagle walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Kameron Walker made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Nathan Rudd was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Liam McCarty, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Academy for Academic Excellence will be playing at home against Granite Hills at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Academy of Careers & Exploration, they will square off against Hesperia Christian at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
