If Boyd-Buchanan was riding high fresh off their 14-2 takedown of Grace Baptist Academy last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Buccaneers fell 10-5 to the Chattanooga Christian Chargers on Friday. The Buccaneers' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Kinley Ervin was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 5.1 innings pitched. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in May of 2024.

On the hitting side, Boyd-Buchanan saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cailyn Butler, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Boyd-Buchanan's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Chattanooga Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Boyd-Buchanan has already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Silverdale Academy on the 1st. As for Chattanooga Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-6 victory against Meigs County on the 31st.
