Baseball Recap: Holbrook Takes a Loss

Holbrook extended their losing streak to four on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 5-5 in the process. They came up short against Atlantis, falling 15-0. The match marked the first time this year in which the Bulldogs were not able to get on the board.

As for Atlantis, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-7. The result was nothing new for Atlantis, who have now won six games by seven runs or more so far this season.

For Atlantis' part, David DeSouza Jr. made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. DeSouza Jr. has become a key player for Atlantis: the team is 4-2 when he allows at most two hits, but 2-5 otherwise. DeSouza Jr. was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Devon Paradise was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Liam DeSousa, who went 1-for-3 with three runs and two RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holbrook will welcome Westport at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Atlantis, they will face off against Avon at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
