Baseball Game Preview: Shadow Ridge Stallions vs. Maryvale Panthers

Shadow Ridge is a perfect 4-0 against Maryvale since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Stallions will host the Panthers at 3:45 p.m. Shadow Ridge is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Shadow Ridge is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering O'Connor just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Monday. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles.

Kael Leon made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Shadow Ridge's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 6-2 (and 4-7-2 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Nathaniel Pearson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Maryvale unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 7-3 to Browne.

Nathan Benavidez was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Xasiel Reyes, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Maryvale's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Shadow Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9-2.

Everything went Shadow Ridge's way against Maryvale when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Shadow Ridge made off with a 15-0 victory. Will the Stallions repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
